Terms of Service

FactStable — fact packs for the agent economy. These terms govern your use of factstable.com and the FactStable API (the "Service"), operated by Charterstone Tech. Contact: [email protected].

1. What the Service is

FactStable serves values ("facts") sourced verbatim from official sources (legislation and government guidance), re-verified on a recurring schedule. Every fact carries its source, the moment it was verified, and — where applicable — a refusal state instead of a value. The Service is an API and an MCP endpoint; it is not legal, financial, or professional advice.

2. Accounts and keys

Access to paid tiers is by API key issued at purchase. Keys are shown once at claim time; keep them secret. You are responsible for use of your key. If a key is compromised, contact us and we will revoke and reissue it.

3. Plans, quotas and payment

Plans and quotas are listed at /v1/plans and on the pricing page. Payment is processed by Stripe. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled. When a quota is reached, the Service returns an honest refusal identifying the limit and the reset date — it never silently degrades.

4. Refusal semantics

When a source drifts and re-verification has not caught up, affected facts return a do-not-answer state. This is the Service working as designed: we refuse rather than guess. Refusals are not outages and do not extend quotas.

5. No advice; verify what matters

Facts are quoted from official sources but the Service is not a substitute for reading the source or taking professional advice. For any decision with legal or financial consequence, verify against the cited source or consult a qualified professional.

6. Prohibited use

Do not resell raw API access, attempt to circumvent quotas, or use the Service to build products that present our facts as legal advice. Automated use must identify itself honestly in the User-Agent.

7. Availability

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. The audit chain and Bitcoin anchoring provide verifiable history; they are not a warranty of future availability.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Changes

We may change these terms; material changes will be announced at [email protected] or on the site 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
